What does it mean to be a Wholesale Customer?

A wholesale customer is a customer who buys merchandise to resell to others, such as a crafts person or artist. In our shop for example, beads and findings are often purchased to make jewelry which is sold at local craft fairs, retail stores, or in-home jewelry parties.

Those interested in making large amounts of jewelry will need larger amounts of supplies, and therefore we offer price-breaks on bulk purchasing. Wholesale is also an option for students or serious beaders not looking to resell their wares but who still buy large quantities of beads and would like to save some money.

What are the Incentives for becoming a Wholesale Customer?

- A purchase of under $50.00 is not taxed.
- A purchase between $50.00 and $99.99 is tax free and may be credited towards the Bead Club Card.*
- A purchase of $100.00 or more is tax free and 20% off, but is not credited towards the Bead Club Card.*

Bead Club Card ::: a rewards card that earns you money off future purchases in our shop.

The above discounting policy applies only to items being resold, and therefore excludes classes, tools, magazines, handbags, pre-made jewelry, etc.

We provide wholesale conferences by appointment. Wholesale customers in need of extreme bulk merchandise ($500.00 or more) may call to schedule an independent meeting to review various ideas, products, and ordering options. The discount for bulk ordering will be determined based on the final purchase amount.

Wholesale customers also receive additional coupons, updates on new arrivals, and the occasional merchandise preview. Previews are open to wholesale customers only and allow these customers to take the first look at new products before they hit the sales floor.

Our website is in the process of establishing a page dedicated to these customers and posting a picture of their work as well as their contact information—free advertising for you and your business.

How do I become a Wholesale Customer?

It’s far easier than you may think. The North Carolina Department of Revenue in Raleigh has tax assistants to help you. You need to register for a Sales and Use tax ID number. The process takes only 10-15 minutes and you will be required to file taxes quarterly—(this is a very simple form you can fill out online.) After you receive your certificate and number, bring it into the store and let us photocopy it to get you into our wholesale database. You take the certificate with you, as it is honored at other stores. Once we have you in our system, you’re done, and able to receive the wholesale star treatment!
